Les Mystères de New York

The catchy special poster of the masked man pointing a gun at viewers was featured in several episodes of Joey and Chandler's apartment in the TV series Friends.

The popular French 'pistol' is originally an old advertising poster for a crime story that was both on TV and as a story in a newspaper. Les Mystères de New York was a series first published in France in 1915 and created by Pierre Decourcelle, the story was also published in the French newspaper Le Matin.
